<lj:music>Stabbing Westward - Waking Up Beside You</lj:music>

Its been a while since I have updated, so here's a little bit in the life of yours truly.
Friday night we had plans to go to Rocky for AggieCon. This was the ONLY portion of con I had any intention of going to, being seen at, etc. Got home from work, played some WoW, and tossed around the idea of going to get a tattoo before the show. Tattoo idea fell through, so Karaoke was on instead as a means of killing time until the show. Everything was going great, I was going to have plenty of time to get to the MSC, read the rules and enjoy my alcohol induced bliss. Unfortunately, POETS conspired to keep me there by having my waitress run off with my tab for an extended period of time. By the time I finally paid and got out, it was just shy of midnight. The show was good. I enjoyed yelling at the screen, seeing people, and just hanging out. As soon as Rocky was over the roommate and I HAD to get food as my stomach was starting to devour my spine. Grabbed food, but didn't feel like partying any more, so we went home and called it a night.

Saturday was a very blah day, like most of the weekend. Took care of some stuff around the house, played WoW, and was just generally a bum. Fell asleep for a while to recharge before hitting POETS for a night cap. It was a little crowded, but my pool game was spot on. I haven't played that well in a long time.

Sunday was more of the same, just no POETS. Not a whole hell of a lot to report on that one.

Monday was a very fluid day at work. We were slammed at times, dead at time, but never anything in between. Came home from work and just passed the hell out from around 6-6:30 until almost 1am. Talk about severely fucking up your sleep patterns. I was up until sometime around 4 before finally calling it a night, and when I finally did get to bed, I forgot to set my alarm. Luckily I was only a few minutes late to work.

Yesterday. Work was work. First half of the day flew by, second half didn't seem like it would ever end. Ran home, got changed and headed over to Faith's to go see the Fightin' Texas Aggie Baseball team. Had a lot of fun, even if we didn't stay for the whole game. I think when we left in the bottom of the 7th it was 8-1 or something rediculous like that.

Not sure how today will turn out. I definitely see either going to bed early or taking a nap when I get home though. I'm just running on empty here at work. Tomorrow I have my court date with my landlord over the disputes about the House on Cedar Run. I feel pretty good about it, considering the how much of a douche my landlord is and how he is raping several other tenants in a similar fashion. If not, I'm not really worried. I guess i'm still broken and can't really worry about things that I should.

I should probably get some work done, or sneak a nap in while my bosses are all in a meeting. G'night LJ world.

EDIT: I hit 70 on WoW on monday (=

    <lj:music>own - Regardless of the Outcome - Winamp *** 26. Bulletproof Brown - Regardless of the Outcome</lj:music>

Since only one person commented on the Meme, I'm forced to answer Baby Phil's question
How about what's going on in your personal life?

There really isn't a whole lot going on in my personal life. Most of my time lately has been spent in one of three places. Work, Poets, WoW. I'll try my best to do a little recap of events in the past few weeks though. A few weeks ago, I went with the roommate and Rachel up to Poets and single handedly won the trivia night. Work has been pretty crazy the passed few weeks. I have several projects I'm trying to juggle all at once, but I also have the task of helping everyone who calls because their printer won't work or they can't get their word document to format properly. I have been staying late every other day or so just to have some quiet time to get things done. It seems that about the time i get one thing finished they pile 2 more on. Normally I would really appreciate the added responsibility but at the same time it kinda sucks never being able to get caught up. In the poets realm, I haven't been hanging out there as much as I used to. I seem to go through phases. There are times when I'm there 5+ nights a week, and then there are times when I'm lucky if I make it there 1 night a week. Lately it has been option (B). I still go up there for Karaoke Night, but aside from that, haven't been up there too much.

Recently, I have noticed a serious lack of social interaction in my life. I remember when I couldn't go a day without seeing people, now there are times when I go weeks (not counting my roommate). I seriously need to plan a road trip to Tulsa soon. My best friend is up there, Quinn is up there, The Hussie is up there, and for the love of God it isn't College Station. I was hoping to go with Faith to tour the Shiner Brewery, but my boss isn't going to let me have the day off since I didn't ask far enough in advance and since I missed last friday due to being sick. I did however at least get to hang out with Faith a little. We grabbed one of the worst CFS's known to man at Ken Martin's Steakhouse. After that we grabbed some beer and had a tv marathon. All in all it was a great night. Last night was spent working late and playing WoW. Nothing too exciting there.

    <lj:music>Pearl Jam - Last Kiss</lj:music>

Friday night, Grisham and I went up to Zapatos to see Bulletproof Brown. The show was excellent, just like their shows usually are. There was a wide variety of music, drinks, dancing, and hanging out. Their cover of "Wish You Were Here" is always a crowd favorite, and Friday was no different. Adam performed a duet he had written that I had never heard before. It was very different, but still very good. The setlist included BPB classics, such as "Act Golden", "Another Year" and "Regardless of the Outcome"(my personal favorite). They also had plenty of their new stuff including "The One", "Muzak", and "A Lot to Learn" On top of all the great music, it was a birthday celebration to boot. Johnny the band's bass player was celebrating his turning another year older. During the show, Adam made a comment that not even Mother Nature could stop their show, and he was right. The weather was beautiful the entire time they were on stage. At 2am, Northgate was sending the drunkards out into the night. The show was over and our tabs were paid and so we, like everyone else started to head to the truck. As soon as we walked out from the cover of Zaps, the rain just started POURING out of nowhere. There was no avoiding getting soaked, so Jeremy and I just took our time getting back to the truck. I was acting like a little kid jumping in all the puddles and we were cracking jokes. Ride home was cold, but uneventful. Got home and changed into something dry, sat down at the computer and relaxed a little bit before *flicker* "dammit" *flicker* *DARK* Power was out about 30-45 minutes. Grisham crashed and I just sat in the living room watching a candle burn and playing a game on the Blackberry.

Saturday night, Grisham, Neal and I went to poets. We were having fun. BSing about this and that, listening to some good music, and all in all just hanging out. Drinks were flowing, we were laughing and then all of a sudden a song by the Backstreet Boys starts playing on the jukebox. You could tell everyone around was thinking the same thing. "Who the hell played this shit?" So I doing my civic duty, walked to the bar and asked Kevin to skip the song. He agrees and as I start to walk back to the pool table, he comes across the intercom with "We have recieved a request to skip this song. If you would like your money back please come to the bar." A good majority of the bar started cheering. It was entertaining as all hell. Cap that night off with some shots, a cigar imported from Columbia and you have yourself an outstanding evening.

Sunday I woke up at 8, which left me running on about 3 hours of sleep or so. I had a very lazy day. Watched a lot of tv, went and ate breakfast and just kinda vegged out. It was a good way to relax after the previous 2 days. With all the breaks i have been having to take to actually get some work done it has taken me almost 4 hours to write this one entry. Oh well. Hopefully I'll get to go see I Am Legend this evening. *crosses fingers*

Leave some love.

    <lj:music>Various Artists - Bulletproof Glow</lj:music>

If I had to describe last night in one word, I would probably have to go with awesome...First, a little back story.

Recently at work, the last person in the Media department left for greener pastures. This places a lot of stress on the Marketing director, which in turn places a lot of stress on my supervisor (do the math). The City of Bryan records all of their City Council meetings and all of their Planning and Zoning meetings. These meetings are broadcast live to channel 16 (if you have local cable) and uploaded to the web to be watched whenever. The only two people that knew how to do this were in the Media department. OH NOES, the problem. Since I have always had an interest in the video side of things that go on here at the city, I volunteered to help out, not to take everything over. Well, I'm now going to be the one running the cameras, mics, channel 16 updates, granicus, etc in addition to my normal job. This means that I will be putting in a lot more time after 5 than I would like. This has me in a very tired, very cranky disposition the past few days. Yesterday was no different....

The Heist.
Faith called, while I was still at work, to see if I wanted to hang out and help her get a Christmas Tree for her house. I aggreed and said I'd stop by when I got off work. I had to do some work in the media room before I could leave, but then off I went. We drove around for a little while trying to figure out just where to get said tree. We drove down University, because Faith thought she had seen a tree tent. We didn't see anything because of all the buildings and such, so we went to Kroger. After being far from impressed with their trees, Paul(ping) called and was hungry, so we went to meet him at Pei Wei. Lo and behold, as soon as we pull into the parking lot, we see the tree tent tucked away behind TGI Friday's. We had a good dinner, and then went over to pick out a tree. We wandered around a while looking for the perfect tree, and we finally found one. Paul and I started to crack jokes about the tree and Faith came in to defend it saying things like "It likes me" or "he just wants a good home." This left the door wide open for Paul and I to basically improv the scenario of the tree's day until we got it back home. The best part being where they shoved it in the net and threw it up on top of the car. "what a great day! I got watered, sun came out, now i'm just sitting here while all the people look at me and think of how pretty i am. Wait! WTF are you doing? What's the net for? HELP HELP I'm being kidnapped" I guess you really just had to be there. Getting the tree into the stand* was also its own little advanture. All in all it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, being exhausted from work, I had to leave early and who knows what festivities I missed out on. I know if I had stayed, there would have been Rum Balls. MMMMM

I have to work late the next 2 days. I'm hoping that today won't be too bad. I'd really like to make it to Heather's Christmahannukwanzuka party. I know I have a mock meeting to record and broadcast, so depending on how well I do (also known as "how little i fuck up") we should make it out of here by 6ish. Tomorrow is the P&Z meeting while will be the real deal. On call all weekend, but at least this friday is Payday. WHOOP. Need to get some Christmas shopping done soon. Most will have to wait until I get home because taking packages on the plane is just WAY more trouble than it's worth. Hmm, what else is going on? Rocky was awesome. I wish I had eaten sometime the day of, and I wish that I had imbibed more alcohol. This was my first sober rocky. I wouldn't say that I needed to be drunk to watch it, but a little alcohol definitely wouldn't have hurt when the cocksock was pulled out. All in all a good show. Ping added some new props which were really cool. Cast interacted with the crowd a lot more than usual and they seemed to really love that. Oh and Jenna as an elf = hot. Just thought I would throw that out there. It was good seeing people all dressed up. They gave Switch a hard time because he looked almost exactly like I did last year, though admitedly, he pulls it off better. I'm sure there's more, but I need to get somem work done. I have so much on my plate I barely know where to begin.
